Part of a larger work, "The Healing Tree," this portion shows a figure walking around a the tree, in a clockwise direction, seeking solace, peace, and redemption. AIDS and its societal constructs, forces the individual to lose their individuality and become part of a stigmatized group. As a spiritual practice in many cultures, walking in a circular clockwise direction raises consciousness to access realms of inner healing, comfort, and acceptance.
